Job description

Responsibilities

• Providing PM&R consults at one or more CHI Omaha/Council Bluffs hospitals
• Managing inpatients alongside Hospitalists on the inpatient rehab unit, serving as the rehabilitation team leader
• No in-house weekend calls, with inpatient hospitalist coverage on weekends
• Participating in education and mentorship of CUSOM medical students
• Opportunities for growth include outpatient clinics in Brain Injury, SCI, Amputation, and Stroke, as well as spasticity management (chemo denervation, ITB pump refills)
• Collaborating with a large primary care, ortho, and spine surgery partner base for inpatient and outpatient referrals
• Engaging with community-based brain injury and trauma prevention programs

Overview

CHI Health Clinic (CHC) and CHI Immanuel Rehabilitation Institute are seeking a BC/BE physiatrist with a focus on inpatient rehab services for our 35-bed, CARF-accredited inpatient rehab unit. Immanuel Rehabilitation was voted the Best Hospital for Rehabilitation in Nebraska by US News in 2021-22. The physician will join two other inpatient physiatrists managing a diverse patient population.

There are opportunities for voluntary or full faculty appointments at CUSOM and research collaborations with Creighton University Schools of Medicine or Allied Health. The ideal candidate should demonstrate interpersonal strengths such as empathy, problem-solving, and attentive listening. Our practice culture emphasizes teamwork, sharing responsibilities, and mutual support. The team includes two inpatient physiatrists, one outpatient sports physiatrist, and one nurse practitioner. This position is created to support growth and expansion of our current program.

Pay Range
