ENCOMPASS HEALTH PM&R MEDICAL DIRECTOR DESCRIPTION

The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing the clinical quality and integrity of the hospital’s rehabilitation services. This role involves optimizing patient care and providing clinical services to patients.

Key responsibilities include partnering with the CEO to position the hospital as the preferred inpatient rehabilitation facility, enhancing patient satisfaction, and achieving top clinical rankings. Building relationships with other specialists to promote inpatient rehabilitation and educating clinicians about the hospital’s services are critical components of this role.

The Medical Director will establish a visible presence within the hospital, fostering accessibility and approachability among staff, patients, and families. Compensation includes administrative fees.

The PM&R Physician will develop a private practice, managing a caseload of complex inpatient rehabilitation patients and outpatient services if desired. The physician will retain 100% of billing and collections through an independent billing company. Encompass Health’s high patient volumes and outreach teams facilitate patient identification and care.
