Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care with inpatient coverage when needed.
• Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and therapists.
• Manage a 36-hour patient contact week with ~20 patients daily.
• Participate in inpatient rehabilitation coverage and on-call as described.
• Engage in teaching opportunities with residents.

THE OPPORTUNITY

PeaceHealth is seeking a compassionate full-time Physiatrist to join our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician team. The position is primarily outpatient with coverage over an inpatient unit when the medical director is unavailable. The outpatient clinic is located at our Salmon Creek location and treats a variety of patients ranging from neurological and orthopedic needs. Our goal is to focus on an appropriate return to function while developing the best plan of management. Working together with PeaceHealth primary care physicians, specialists, orthopedic and neurologic based therapists. PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center offers a 14-bed, hospital-based physical rehabilitation program specifically designed to help patients become as independent as possible following an injury or illness. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in an inpatient and outpatient setting, with experience and willingness to perform electrodiagnostic studies (EMG and NCV), Botox treatment for spasticity, TPI, and conservative treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. This unique opportunity has tremendous options for growth of the program introducing sports medicine, ongoing community engagement, and teaching opportunities with residents both inpatient and outpatient.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Join an established group of 3 physicians and 1:1 MA.
• Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
• Schedule: 1.0 FTE, Monday through Friday in clinic with 36 patient contact hours weekly
• 1:4 Call: One week month of Evening Home Call. For Inpatient Rehabilitation, this role would be 2ndin line to provide sick or PTO coverage
• Offering 30 and 45-minute patient visits, seeing up to ~20 patients daily. With an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit established in 1993, CARF accredited since 1996, and CARF Stroke Specialty Program Designation since 2005
• Level II trauma rehabilitation designation with comprehensive rehabilitation continuum
