Job summary

Wellstar Health System in Augusta, GA, seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Physiatrist to join the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. You will treat a broad range of neurologic, musculoskeletal and functional impairments and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

This role offers academic medicine opportunities, teaching residents and fellows, involvement in quality improvement and clinical research, and access to comprehensive rehabilitation

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree and board certification/eligibility in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited PM&R residency.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Georgia and strong communication skills.
• Commitment to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care and teaching.
• Fellowship training in brain injury, spinal cord injury, pain or related areas is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and/or outpatient PM&R care with comprehensive rehab consultations.
• Manage patients with stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury and neuromuscular conditions.
• Develop individualized rehabilitation plans and collaborate with PT/OT/SLP teams.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences and clinical research initiatives.
• Teach and mentor residents, fellows, and medical students.
