Job summary

Agile Occupational Medicine PC is seeking a 1099 Physiatrist in Bakersfield/Delano, CA to diagnose and treat work-related injuries with a focus on pain management and rehabilitation. You will collaborate with physical therapists, chiropractors, and other clinicians to develop comprehensive care plans and ensure rapid recovery.

You will lead patient care in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, with emphasis on documentation, follow-up, and coordination with employers for case management.

Qualifications

  • Must graduate from an accredited medical program and hold an MD or DO degree.
  • Unrestricted California medical license.
  • Board certified or eligible per state practice requirements.
  • Active DEA registration and current BLS certification.
  • Current medical malpractice insurance coverage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal issues, chronic pain, and work-related injuries.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans including therapies, meds, and injections.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans for optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients on conditions, prevention, and rehabilitation processes.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in EMR.

Description

As a 1099 physiatrist, you will be responsible for the diagnosing and providing direct specialist services to patients for pain management and physical rehabilitation from work related injuries. You will work in a team environment with physical therapists, chiro, acupuncture among other clinical staff under the referral of the occupational medicine physician. You’ll also collaborate with employers in active case management.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of physical disabilities and conditions, including musculoskeletal issues, chronic pain, and neurological disorders from work-related injuries; assess patients’ medical history, physical exams, and x-rays
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that may include physical therapy, therapeutic exercises, medications, injections, and non-surgical interventions to improve function and mobility
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists and medical doctors, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients on their conditions and its prevention and the rehabilitation process
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation in EMR
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited medical program with a M.D. or D.O. and an unrestricted California medical license.
  • Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction.
  • Board certified or eligible in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice.
  • Active DEA registration required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Current Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
  • Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Background in occupational medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or outpatient setting is preferred.
