Job summary

AGILE OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE PC seeks a 1099 Physiatrist in California to diagnose and treat work-related injuries, focusing on pain management and rehabilitation. You will collaborate with athletic therapists, chiropractors, and other clinicians to deliver high-quality care and promote rapid return-to-work.

The role emphasizes team-based care, emphasis on patient engagement, and active participation in employer-based case management.

Qualifications

• Must hold MD or DO degree and an unrestricted California medical license.
• Board certification or eligibility in Occupational Medicine or PM&R is required or preferred.
• Active DEA registration and current BLS certification are required.
• Proficiency with MS Office and EMR/patient management software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage musculoskeletal and work-related conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including non-surgical options.
• Collaborate with physical therapists and other clinicians to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and monitor patient progress.

Job description

As a 1099 physiatrist, you will be responsible for the diagnosing and providing direct specialist services to patients for pain management and physical rehabilitation from work related injuries. You will work in a team environment with physical therapists, chiro, acupuncture among other clinical staff under the referral of the occupational medicine physician. You’ll also collaborate with employers in active case management.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of physical disabilities and conditions, including musculoskeletal issues, chronic pain, and neurological disorders from work-related injuries; assess patients’ medical history, physical exams, and x-rays
• Develop individualized treatment plans that may include physical therapy, therapeutic exercises, medications, injections, and non-surgical interventions to improve function and mobility
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists and medical doctors, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients on their conditions and its prevention and the rehabilitation process
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in EMR

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited medical program with a M.D. or D.O. and an unrestricted California medical license.
• Licensure requirements of the state of jurisdiction.
• Board certified or eligible in the state where employed and in accordance with state laws of practice.
• Active DEA registration required
• Current BLS certification required
• Current Medical Malpractice Insurance coverage.
• Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
• Excellent work ethic and dedication to patient success.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Background in occupational medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation, or outpatient setting is preferred.
