Job description

Position

Part-Time: 24-29 hours/week (Monday - Thursday).

Full-Time positions are open to negotiation.

$25-34/hour.

Job Responsibilities
  • Instruct, motivate, safeguard, and assist patients as they practice exercises or functional activities.
  • Confer with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.
  • Implement selected components of care and interventions in a technically competent manner.
  • Measure patients' range-of-joint motion, body parts, or vital signs to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations.
  • Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment.
  • Monitor operation of equipment and record use of equipment and administration of treatment.
  • Train patients in the use of orthopedic braces, prostheses, or supportive devices.
  • Transport patients to and from treatment areas, lifting and transferring them according to positioning requirements.
  • Clean work area and check and store equipment after treatment.
  • Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on their responses and progress and provide results to physical therapist in person or through progress notes.
  • Administer active or passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, aquatic physical therapy, or heat, light, sound, or electrical modality treatments.
  • Attend or conduct continuing education courses, seminars, or in-service activities.
  • Identify patient's needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy to individual differences
  • Apply the latest research related to restoring function, reducing symptoms frequency, and preventing injury
  • Collaborate in patient status judgments as needed.
  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards
  • Maintain required competencies
  • Complete competencies and continuing education as needed and required.
Education
  • Physical Therapist Assistant, Associates (AAS), or higher
Work Experience
  • Minimum of two years' experience outpatient experience preferred
Certifications/Licensure
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Current CPR Certification, may be obtained within 90 days of hiring.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, heat and communicate in English proficiently.
  • Ability to utilize proper body mechanics when examining or delivering care
  • Ability to transfer and transport patients of various body weight and composition
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, lift, turn, twist, sit, and walk frequently
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of and manipulate equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
