Job Title: PHY: Experimental and Theoretical Positions for Quantum and Information Sciences.

Location: Campus (Syracuse University)

Commitment to On-Campus Experience: This position requires regular in-person presence to support students, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the academic environment. Remote work arrangements are limited in accordance with University policy.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000

FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours: Determined by department chair. Office hours required.

Job Description: The Departments of Physics and Mathematics at Syracuse University invite applications to fill multiple faculty positions in the field of quantum information science, broadly defined. Faculty will join the newly established Institute for Quantum and Information Sciences, an interdisciplinary effort spanning multiple departments in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering. The hiring priority in Physics includes all fields of experimental research related to quantum and information science, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, quantum optics and photonics; atomic, molecular, and optical physics; and quantum sensing and networking. The hiring priority in Mathematics includes all fields of theoretical research related to the mathematics of quantum science, broadly defined. This includes, but is not limited to, the mathematics of quantum field theory and gravitation at the intersection with quantum science; the analysis of quantum algorithms, codes and entanglement structures; and related topics in algebraic and differential geometry, topology, and representation theory.
