Job summary

Universal Health Services in Atlanta, GA seeks licensed therapists to provide virtual therapeutic services, interview patients, and develop psychological histories during stays at the facility.

This is not a remote position. You will assess needs, set treatment objectives, update plans, conduct family sessions before discharge, and coordinate with the treatment team and outside agencies for discharge planning.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or other related fields.
  • One (1) year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with adults, children and/or adolescents. Training must include sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, and relaxation therapy.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to document assessments, treatment planning and interventions.
  • Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques related to cultural, social, economic, and family system contexts.
  • Knowledge of clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics and develop effective treatment strategies within the treatment plan.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual therapeutic services for patients.
  • Interview and develop the psychological history of patients.
  • Assess therapeutic needs of the individual and family.
  • Develop appropriate treatment objectives and update treatment plans.
  • Conduct family sessions prior to discharge.
  • Act as the patient/family advocate with the treatment team.
  • Liaise with outside agencies to coordinate discharge planning with the team and family.

Responsibilities

Therapists are responsible for conducting virtual therapeutic services for patients, interviewing and developing the psychological history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives, and treatment plan updates for patients. Therapists conduct family sessions prior to discharge. Therapists act as the patients' and families' primary contact during the patient's stay at the facility, as well as their advocate with the treatment team. Therapists are also liaisons with outside agencies and individuals for the purpose of developing and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team and family. This is not a remote position.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling or other related fields.
  • One (1) year direct clinical experience specific to family, individual and group therapy with adults, children and/or adolescents. For specialized issues or treatment modalities, training must be specific to include but not be limited to: sexual offending, substance abuse, sexual trauma, and relaxation therapy. Must have knowledge of human development over the life span.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in order to document assessments, treatment planning and interventions into a meaningful document. Must be able to communicate with members of the interdisciplinary treatment team, managed care representatives, children, adolescents, adults and patient families in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of individual, group and family therapy dynamics and techniques as related to cultural, social, economic, communication and role expectations within family systems.
  • Knowledge of clinical skills to assess treatment dynamics accurately and develop effective treatment strategies within the overall treatment plan.
