Job summary

Lendable is hiring a Mid level PHP Engineer for our US Loans team. You’ll work on a modern lending platform, building APIs, integrating services, and shaping the architecture with experienced engineers.

You’ll own features end-to-end, contribute to automated testing, and collaborate in a fast-paced fintech environment across backend systems and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software development
• Strong PHP 8+ development experience
• Proficient in modern PHP frameworks (Symfony/Laravel)
• Solid unit and integration testing skills (Behat, PHPUnit)
• Experience with Domain Driven Design
• Ownership and autonomy in delivery
• Desirable: experience with financial systems

About the role

We're looking for a Mid level PHP Engineer to join our US Loans team!

Our engineering organisation is home to over 200 talented engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and platform disciplines.

You'll be working on a new product we're building within our existing US Loans team. It's built on our established lending platform and codebase, so you'll help shape something new while working alongside experienced engineers who know the domain and the systems well.

You'll have the opportunity to work on everything from building and integrating new APIs to enhance the customer journey, to optimising our lending platforms, and engaging in deep architectural discussions. There's plenty to tackle, and we're excited to find the right people to take on the challenge.

What we’re looking for

Essential

• 3+ years of experience

• A strong, business-oriented engineer with modern PHP development experience (PHP 8.0+ is a must)

• High degree of ownership and autonomy

• A good understanding of a modern PHP framework like Symfony or Laravel

• Strong automated testing skills (unit, integration, functional, Behat)

• A keen desire to learn and contribute to a highly collaborative team

• Experience with Domain Driven Design

Desirable

• Experience working on financial systems

• Experience with Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing
