About The Role

HealthPoint Solutions is hiring a PHP Developer to help strengthen and evolve our application architecture. This role is suited to a developer with at least four years of technology experience who enjoys solving real problems, working across teams, and following through from discovery to delivery. You will build and improve software while helping the team understand the systems and services that support it.

You will work with technology users in Johnson City to understand their needs, contribute to REST API development, and collaborate with colleagues across engineering and quality assurance. The role also involves engaging with Kubernetes services and PostgreSQL systems, including investigating existing infrastructure, improving its documentation, and helping prevent recurring incidents. You will have the opportunity to propose architectural approaches, explain your reasoning in reviews, and help implement approved solutions.

The base salary range is $75,000 to $109,000, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. This position is currently based in Johnson City, TN. A mentor will support your professional development and help you grow from a mid-level contributor toward a lead-level role.

Qualifications

You should demonstrate reliable follow-through, with a track record of delivering working software and completing commitments. A thoughtful, curious approach is important: you should be comfortable asking clarifying questions, considering alternative viewpoints, and identifying what evidence could change your perspective. Experience working with PHP, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, software testing, or related technologies will be valuable in this role.

Responsibilities

Develop, improve, and maintain PHP applications and supporting services, with attention to reliability, maintainability, and the needs of technology users. Partner with users in Johnson City to understand workflows, clarify requirements, and shape REST API tools that address real operational needs.

Work closely with QA to define appropriate test coverage, identify potential regressions early, and support consistent release quality. Investigate existing Kubernetes services, including systems with limited documentation, and help make their purpose, dependencies, and operation clearer to the team. Sketch proposed Kubernetes architecture, present and defend your design during reviews, and contribute to building and validating the resulting solution.

Participate in PostgreSQL incident reviews and lead or support postmortems that identify contributing factors and practical corrective actions. Document decisions and technical context, share information through clear handoffs, and coordinate with colleagues to deliver improvements from investigation through deployment.
