Job summary

Signature Consultants is seeking a seasoned software engineer to design, develop, and test modern web applications. You will work across PHP 8, Node.js, and Angular 17+ stacks, implement secure coding practices, and enhance legacy PHP systems while migrating toward modern frameworks.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, collaborate with architecture peers, and help deliver scalable solutions with a strong emphasis on quality and security.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering development experience.
• Hands-on experience with PHP 8, Node.js, Angular 17+, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Git, REST APIs.
• Experience building Angular applications using Standalone Components, Signals, and modern control flow.
• Strong experience maintaining legacy PHP applications and modernizing monolithic architectures to Angular/Node.js.
• Proven ability to identify, analyze, and remediate security vulnerabilities including OWASP Top 10.
• Experience with secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, input validation, and data protection.
• Experience with MySQL, designing and consuming RESTful APIs, and integrating with enterprise systems.
• Proven track record writing automated tests (unit/integration/end-to-end) and practicing TDD.
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software while collaborating with architecture peers.
• Support other developers and participate in Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives).
• Capture requirements and contribute to system design efforts.
• Develop maintainable, scalable software standards and solutions.
• Adhere to timelines and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Ensure code reviews, unit tests, and integration tests are performed effectively.
• Foster teamwork and collaboration across project teams and business partners.

The Skills You Bring
Required Skills:
* Minimum of 5 years of software engineering development experience.
* Proven hands-on experience working with PHP 8, Node.js, NPM, Angular 17+, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Git, REST APIs, and modern web application development.
* Proven hands-on experience developing Angular applications using Standalone Components, Signals, and modern control flow syntax.
* Strong experience maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting legacy PHP applications.
* Experience modernizing monolithic applications and migrating functionality from PHP-based architectures to Angular and Node.js solutions.
* Proven experience identifying, analyzing, and remediating application security vulnerabilities including OWASP Top 10 risks.
* Experience implementing secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, input validation, and data protection controls.
* Experience with relational databases including MySQL.
* Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with enterprise systems.
* Proven experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and following Test Driven Development (TDD) principles.
Any combination of the following is a plus:
* Experience with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) methodologies and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices.
* Experience modernizing legacy PHP frameworks such as CodeIgniter as well as custom-built applications
* Experience with application security scanning tools such as Mend, CodeQL and SonarQube.
* Experience performing vulnerability remediation and supporting penetration testing efforts.
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized application deployments.
* Experience with cloud platforms including Azure and AWS.
* Experience with OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and other enterprise identity integrations.
