Job summary

Kforce Inc is seeking a PHP Developer for a client in Covington, KY. You will design, develop, test, and collaborate with architects and peers in an Agile environment to deliver scalable web solutions.

Responsibilities include implementing RESTful services, modernizing PHP apps to Angular/Node.js, ensuring security (OWASP Top 10), performing code reviews, and writing automated tests. You will work with MySQL, Git, and CI/CD in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering development experience.
• Proven hands-on experience with PHP 8, Node.js, NPM, Angular 17+, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Git, REST APIs, and modern web app development.
• Proven hands-on experience developing Angular applications using Standalone Components, Signals, and modern control flow syntax.
• Strong experience maintaining, enhancing, and troubleshooting legacy PHP applications.
• Experience modernizing monolithic apps and migrating functionality from PHP-based architectures to Angular and Node.js.
• Proven experience identifying, analyzing, and remediating application security vulnerabilities including OWASP Top 10 risks.
• Experience implementing secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, input validation, and data protection controls.
• Experience with relational databases including MySQL.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with enterprise systems.
• Proven experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and following TDD principles.

Requirements

• Experience modernizing legacy PHP frameworks such as CodeIgniter as well as custom-built applications
• Experience with application security scanning tools such as Mend, CodeQL and SonarQube
• Experience performing vulnerability remediation and supporting penetration testing efforts
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and containerized application deployments
• Experience with cloud platforms including Azure and AWS
• Experience with OAuth, OIDC, SAML, and other enterprise identity integrations

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
