Job summary

OpenLight Photonics Inc. is seeking a highly skilled photonics test technician to join our on-site team in the San Jose/Santa Clara area.

You will operate automated wafer test stations to validate Silicon Photonics devices and Photonic Integrated Circuits at wafer, die, and package levels, with a focus on wafer prober operation and data analysis. You will support test engineers by maintaining stations, programming probers, managing wafer inventory, and collaborating with OSAT partners to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
• Experience operating automated wafer probers in a lab or production setting.
• Hands-on lab or industry experience in physics/electrical engineering.
• Dexterity for sub-micron mechanical alignment.
• Ability to identify test anomalies, system issues or data inconsistencies.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex technical docs.
• Independent contributor with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install custom wafer test hardware on wafer test stations.
• Program wafer probers and run test software.
• Operate stations for prototype runs and hand off to OSAT partners
• Download test data, run analysis software, publish results
• Monitor test outputs, identify anomalies or drift in data
• Manage wafer inventory and track test coverage per wafer
• Manage schedules for test execution and communicate with program managers
• Ship and hand-deliver wafers in San Jose
