Job summary

CACI International is seeking an Optical Manufacturing Engineer (Second Shift) in Orlando to design, model, analyze, and test optical, electro-optical, and opto-mechanical systems. You will develop component specs, tolerances, and test procedures, ensuring manufacturing readiness for high-volume production.

The role requires leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, expanding facilities, and applying SPC methods to improve process capability and cost. Occasional travel is expected (<10%).

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with a team of manufacturing and test engineers.
• Ability to influence design for manufacturing changes.
• Understanding of high volume electro-optical manufacturing and test concepts.
• Strong oral and written presentation skills.
• Ability to lead, as well as work independently in a team environment.
• Four-year engineering degree from an accredited college.

Responsibilities

• You will join our team working closely with seasoned Engineers and Mentors that will provide guidance for the implementation of leading edge technologies.
• Under this guidance, provide vision, leadership, and direction in the development of CACI strategic initiatives to address the emerging need for Photonics Solutions.
• Foster an entrepreneurial culture by leading and developing a team grounded in strong work ethic, dedication, and passion for intellectual curiosity.
• Lead and support equipment and facilities expansion.
• Implement process capability monitoring and improvement, to include the use of statistical process control.
• Provide direction in problem solving, product or process characterization, process efficiency improvements and continuous improvement activities.
• Drive optimization of products for improved manufacturability, cycle time and cost reductions.
• Work with design team to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is incorporated into future products such that they successfully pass a manufacturing readiness review prior to low-rate initial production.
• Work with engineering to negotiate product specifications and print acceptance criteria.
• Travel to other CACI Locations or customer sites, as necessary (< 10% Travel).
• Perform other duties, as required.
• Solve production issues with optics and mechanical assemblies.
• Strong Optical and mechanical background.
