Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation’s Photonics Technology Department is seeking an undergraduate intern to work on RF photonics, photonic integrated circuits, quantum photonics, and fabrication methods. The internship is full-time and on-site in El Segundo, CA.

You’ll join an interdisciplinary team, perform laboratory characterization and system simulations, and develop novel analysis techniques for advanced photonic systems while receiving mentorship from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in a college/university program pursuing a relevant degree.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks and return to studies afterward.
• Sophomore standing by start date; minimum GPA 3.0.
• Some knowledge in scientific programming (Python, MATLAB, Mathematica) and basic EE/physics principles.

Responsibilities

• Participate with an interdisciplinary team in laboratory and theoretical research on photonic technologies.
• Apply standard and novel techniques for quantum technologies and RF photonics tasks.
• Develop techniques for analyzing advanced photonic systems and present results to management.
• Interact with and learn from senior staff
