Job summary

Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) is seeking a Process Engineer Technician to join our Thin-Film Lithium Niobate photonics foundry team in Tempe, AZ.

This hands-on role supports semiconductor nanofabrication, production processing, and process development for advanced photonic devices. The successful candidate will operate fabrication equipment in the cleanroom, document results, and collaborate with senior engineers on process improvements, SPC, and data analysis while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on semiconductor process engineering experience in e-beam lithography, photolithography, plasma dry etching, wet etching and cleaning, CVD, PVD, e-beam evaporation, or metal electroplating.
• Hands-on experience with metrology tools such as CD-SEM, AFM, ellipsometry, film-thickness measurement systems, and particle-measurement systems.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, execute experiments under engineering guidance, maintain complete records, and present results clearly.
• Strong observation, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills to identify plausible failure causes.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow SOPs, work instructions, process specs, and safety requirements in the cleanroom.
• Carry out process-development and R&D experiments; record conditions, measurements, observations, and results.
• Organize and present experimental results via summaries, data tables, charts, and presentations.
• Operate nanofabrication and metrology equipment (e-beam, photolithography, plasma etchers, deposition, CD-SEM, AFM, ellipsometry, profilometry, interferometry).
• Monitor processes, identify deviations, and investigate potential causes using process data and metrology results.
• Escalate deviations and assist root-cause investigations and process improvements.
• Maintain accurate process records and support SPC, traceability, and documentation requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers to support rapid iteration and resolve fabrication challenges.
