Job summary

Quantum Computing Inc. is seeking a Process Engineer to join the TFLN photonics foundry team in Tempe, AZ. You will fabricate and develop semiconductor nanofabrication processes and continuously improve manufacturing capabilities in a hands-on cleanroom role.

You will lead design of experiments, apply advanced metrology, and collaborate across engineering teams to ensure safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• At least 5+ years of hands-on semiconductor process engineering experience with expertise in lithography, etching, deposition, or electroplating.
• Experience with metrology tools for process verification and defect analysis.
• Ability to design and execute technical experiments and analyze results.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on semiconductor and photonic device fabrication in a cleanroom using nanofabrication tools (e-beam, photolithography, plasma etchers, CVD/PVD, e-beam evaporation, metal plating).
• Design, lead, and execute R&D experiments to improve nanofabrication results, stability, yield, and process capability.
• Facilitate transition of research-scale processes to wafer-scale manufacturing.
• Use metrology tools (CD-SEM, AFM, ellipsometry, profilometry, XPS/XRD) for process characterization and defect analysis.
• Troubleshoot deviations, contamination, and equipment issues; implement corrective actions and improvements.
• Establish and maintain SPC for process monitoring and optimization.
• Collaborate with process integration, equipment, and design engineers to resolve fabrication challenges.
• Support rapid iterative experiments with short turnaround times between fabrication and analysis.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process specs, and work instructions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership in lithography, wet processing, and metrology.
