This part-time, non-exempt role provides routine technical and lab support under supervision in the Photography, Film, and Media Studies Department studios and equipment check in/out room.

Responsibilities include assisting with setup, operations, safety, and gallery exhibition support, plus basic student and staff technical assistance across analog, digital, and computer studios.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required for baseline qualification.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds as part of studio operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic technical assistance to students, faculty and staff in analog, digital, and computer studios.
• Respond to routine questions and issues related to studio equipment and facilities.
• Assist with setup, operation and cleanup of studios, laboratories, and instructional spaces.
• Support day-to-day studio and lab activities to ensure readiness for instructional use.
• Track consumable supplies and report low inventory levels to supervisory staff.
• Assist with organization and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Support checkout and check-in of equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic care of equipment including cameras, printers, enlargers, lighting, and sound gear.
• Follow established safety procedures and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues.
• Assist with installation and deinstallation of gallery exhibitions.
