Job summary

Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg, VA seeks an adjunct photographer to teach designated courses in-person and/or online for the 2027 academic year. Adjuncts teach up to 12 credits fall/spring and up to 8 in summer, with no guarantee of continued employment.

Applicants must hold a Master’s in Photography (18 graduate hours) and be capable of teaching online as needed. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in Photography.
• Ability to effectively teach classrooms and online.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to use instructional technology.
• Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.
