JOB TITLE: Photographer

JOB SUMMARY: The Photographer is responsible for capturing high-quality images during New Mexico Goatheads home games, team events, community appearances, and other assigned activities. This position will focus on game action, fans, players, promotions, entertainment, and sponsorship elements for use across the team's digital, marketing, communications, and social media platforms. The Photographer will work closely with the Lead Photographer and Marketing staff to ensure key moments and required assets are captured throughout each event. The ideal candidate has strong photography skills, an eye for storytelling, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced sports environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

• Capture photography during New Mexico Goatheads home games and select events.
• Photograph game action, players, fans, promotions, sponsorship activations, entertainment, and other assigned elements.
• Follow photography assignments and coverage priorities provided by the Lead Photographer or Marketing staff.
• Capture images suitable for social media, website, marketing, communications, and sponsor fulfillment.
• Edit and deliver photos within established timelines as assigned.
• Maintain proper organization and file naming of photography assets.
• Assist with player portraits, promotional shoots, community appearances, and other photography needs when assigned.
• Maintain awareness of event flow and anticipate key moments.
• Properly handle and maintain assigned photography equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous sports, event, or live-action photography experience preferred.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating photography skills preferred.
• Experience with DSLR or mirrorless camera systems.
• Familiarity with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar photo editing software.
• Understanding of exposure, composition, focus, and photography in low-light environments.
• Strong attention to detail and visual storytelling skills.
• Ability to work independently while following assigned shot priorities.
• Knowledge of hockey preferred.
• Ability to meet quick turnaround deadlines.
• Reliable and punctual with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on the New Mexico Goatheads schedule.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & EXPECTATIONS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others; move throughout the facility; stand or remain in a stationary position for extended periods; traverse stairs, seating areas, and hard or potentially slippery surfaces; and operate photography equipment.
• Must be able to transport, position, or move photography equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Position may require frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and repositioning throughout events.
• Must be comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced arena environment.
• Must be able to work extended and non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
