Job summary

NBCUniversal Telemundo Fresno is seeking a Photographer/Editor responsible for shooting and editing stories, including spot news and features. You will work directly with the Assignment Desk and collaborate with the Executive Producer and News Director.

The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, has at least two years of newsroom photography experience, holds a journalism degree or equivalent, and is available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a news photographer
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism and/or equivalent work experience
• Be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Responsibilities

• Through the creative use of the camera, and proficient lighting and editing skills, will provide the viewer with a story on a given topic.
• Will operate camera, or cellular bonded technology and edit on Adobe Premier Pro edit systems.
• Respond quickly to breaking news while taking directions and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate personnel.
• Shoot and edit high‑quality video, interviews, and story packages
• Set up and operate microphones and monitor audio levels
• Set up and operate lighting equipment
• Perform work under pressure with multiple, daily deadlines
• Gather video and interviews independently as needed
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the field

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Must be willing to work in Fresno, CA
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment at a given time – including camera, lighting kit, cable reel, and LiveU and Dejero units.
