Job summary

Telemundo Fresno is seeking a Photographer/Editor to shoot and edit stories, including spot news and features. You will work with the Assignment Desk and collaborate with the Executive Producer and News Director to craft compelling local stories with strong visuals.

The role requires proficient camera work, lighting, and editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, with the ability to respond to breaking news, meet tight deadlines, and lift equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a news photographer.
• Bilingual English/Spanish (written and verbal).
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate camera or cellular bonded technology and edit on Adobe Premiere Pro systems.
• Respond quickly to breaking news while coordinating with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate personnel.
• Shoot and edit high-quality video, interviews, and story packages.
• Set up and operate microphones and monitor audio levels.
• Set up and operate lighting equipment.
• Perform under pressure with multiple deadlines.
• Gather video and interviews independently as needed.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the field.

Opportunity

Telemundo Fresno is looking for a Photographer/Editor. As a Photographer/Editor, you will be responsible for shooting and editing stories, including spot news and features.

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will directly work with and report to Assignment Desk and works closely with Executive Producer and New Director.

Through the creative use of the camera, and proficient lighting and editing skills, will provide the viewer with a story on a given topic.

Key Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit high-quality video, interviews, and story packages

• Set up and operate lighting equipment
• Perform work under pressure with multiple, daily deadlines
• Gather video and interviews independently as needed
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the field

• Bachelor's degree in journalism and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a news photographer
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal
• Be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment at a given time - including camera, lighting kit, cable reel, and LiveU and Dejero units.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be willing to work in Fresno, CA
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Must have valid driver's license and good driving record
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
• Must be hands on
• Must be fluent in Spanish (speak, read & write)
