NBCUniversal Fresno is seeking a Photographer/Editor to shoot, light, and edit news stories including spot news and features. The role reports to the Assignment Desk and collaborates with the Executive Producer and News Director.

Requirements include bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, 2+ years of news photography, a journalism degree or equivalent, and availability evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a part-time, on-site position in Fresno.

Formación

• Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a news photographer
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism and/or equivalent work experience
• Be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Responsabilidades

• Through the camera, lighting, and editing skills, provide viewers with a story on a topic
• Operate camera or cellular bonded tech and edit on Adobe Premiere Pro
• Respond quickly to breaking news and coordinate with assignment desk, reporters, and production
• Shoot and edit high-quality video, interviews, and story packages
• Set up and operate microphones and monitor audio levels
• Set up and operate lighting equipment
• Work under pressure with daily deadlines
• Gather video and interviews independently as needed
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the field

Job Description

Telemundo Fresno is looking for a Photographer/Editor. As a Photographer/Editor, you will be responsible for shooting and editing stories, including spot news and features.

The ideal candidate will directly work with and report to Assignment Desk and works closely with Executive Producer and New Director.

Responsibilities

• Through the creative use of the camera, and proficient lighting and editing skills, will provide the viewer with a story on a given topic.
• Will operate camera, or cellular bonded technology and edit on Adobe Premier Pro edit systems.
• Respond quickly to breaking news while taking directions and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate personnel.
• Shoot and edit high-quality video, interviews, and story packages
• Set up and operate microphones and monitor audio levels
• Set up and operate lighting equipment
• Perform work under pressure with multiple, daily deadlines
• Gather video and interviews independently as needed
• Troubleshoot technical issues in the field

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a news photographer
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism and/or equivalent work experience
• Be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Eligibility Requirements

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
• Must be willing to work in Fresno, CA
• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment at a given time – including camera, lighting kit, cable reel, and LiveU and Dejero units.

Additional Requirements:

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
