Job summary

PRACTICE in New York City is seeking Education Champions to deliver explicit phonics instruction and support students toward fluent reading. You will work in a flexible schedule, with TU/WE/TH sessions from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, teaching core subjects and providing small group tutoring.

Earn $25–$27 per hour for in-person programs, with a possible completion bonus up to 10% of total earnings. Join a mission-driven team focused on education equity and social justice.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering explicit, systematic phonics instruction using established programs such as Reading, SPIRE, and Sounds Sensible.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based phonics practices and ability to implement lesson sequences with fidelity.
• Ability to deliver instruction that builds foundational reading skills and progresses toward fluent, accurate reading.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Science, and Regents prep.
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to deliver engaging, personalized learning strategies.
• Deliver explicit phonics instruction and support students to close the opportunity gap.
