Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a growing healthcare organization to identify a Phone Operator for a busy specialty medical practice. The Phone Operator will serve as a primary point of contact for patients, managing incoming calls and assisting with appointment scheduling.

This contract role offers a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with training starting times and a 30-minute lunch. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical receptionist, call center, scheduling, or healthcare customer service role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Prior healthcare or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of incoming patient calls with professionalism and courtesy.
• Schedule and update patient appointments as needed.
• Listen to patient needs and route questions or requests to the appropriate team.
• Use internal task-management tools to communicate messages and follow-up items.
• Provide general assistance and accurate information to patients.
• Document relevant patient requests and communications within the appropriate systems.
• Maintain a positive and professional patient experience.
• Support the team during periods of increased call volume.
