Job summary

Horrocks in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Senior Transportation Director to lead design teams, manage transportation engineering projects, and win new opportunities. The role demands a strong track record in delivering complex DOT projects and client-facing leadership.

You will develop scopes, budgets, and schedules, coordinate with subconsultants, and ensure QA/QC across projects while fostering cross-office collaboration and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering license in AZ.
• 15+ years of Project Management & Business Development Experience.
• Preferred 10+ years of DOT experience.
• Demonstrated experience delivering transportation projects for DOTs, municipalities, counties, or regional agencies.
• Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices.
• Possess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgets.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead Horrocks design teams to deliver transportation projects.
• Identify, pursue, and win new transportation engineering opportunities within the public and private sectors.
• Develop and track scope, budget, and schedules for transportation projects to successfully deliver projects
• Solicit and manage subconsultant engineering services
• Interface with public and private sector clients including state and municipal agencies
• Coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders
• Coordinate with office management and other project managers to share resources
• Manage Quality Control/Quality Assurance activities per Horrocks’ Quality Program
• Cultivate client relationships and pursue business development opportunities
