Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician/Mechanic based in Phoenix, AZ to diagnose and repair motorized equipment on project sites. You will work on cranes, forklifts, tractors, trucks, and related vehicles, performing field diagnostics and preventive maintenance.

This full-time on-site role requires strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting, the ability to read manuals, and effective communication with the equipment manager and field teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; relevant mechanic training or certification.
• 1–3 years of related mechanic experience in construction or industrial equipment.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred for equipment repair.
• Ability to read service manuals and schematics; strong troubleshooting skills.
• Clear English communication and ability to coordinate with team.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, set up, diagnose, maintain and repair construction equipment and vehicles.
• Perform field diagnostics to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Coordinate with managers and field personnel on repair status and priorities.
• Complete accurate service notes and inspection records.
• Ensure work complies with OSHA standards and safety requirements.
