Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Clinical Lead - Phlebotomy to oversee training, onboarding, and competency sign-off for Laboratory Assistants while supporting daily scheduling for the Lab Float Pool.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, development of a training curriculum, and collaboration with Nursing Educators to ensure compliant testing and staffing across the department. Strong phlebotomy experience and certification are required; float pool exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency required.
• Four years phlebotomy experience preferred; float experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and competency sign-off for Laboratory Assistants.
• Assist in evaluating training needs and developing programs for new hires and staff.
• Provide training to clinical staff operating and maintaining POC instrumentation.
• Develop plans with Nursing Educators for training non-laboratory personnel.
• Assist with policy development to ensure compliance.
• Review and adjust daily/weekly schedules for the Lab Float Pool.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring of new employees.
