Job summary

The Salem VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia is recruiting a Medical Technician - Phlebotomy to perform phlebotomy, accessioning and processing, and provide support across chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis and microbiology within the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service.

• At least one full year of specialized experience in medical laboratory work.
• Experience following written procedures to perform standardized tests.
• Documentation of duties and hours worked must be shown on the resume.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws.
• Assist with accessioning and processing in the clinical laboratory.
• Support areas such as chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and microbiology as needed.
• Work within the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service team at the Salem VA Medical Center.
