Job summary

DCH Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect, transport, and receive specimens for laboratory testing across multiple locations including nursing homes and emergency departments. The role supports clerical data entry, reporting, and posting of laboratory results, with duties extending to Breath Alcohol and DOT drug screen collections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
• Mobility to move about including standing, reaching and lifting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collects, transports and receives specimens with knowledge of patient age-specific needs and proper transport to maintain specimen integrity.
• Performs clerical duties to process specimens and reports.
• Performs Breath Alcohol Test and Urine DOT Drug Screen Collections across multiple locations.
• Maintains supplies and inventory; organizes workflow.
• Trains/orients new employees and supports ongoing staff development.
• Ensures documentation for all tasks performed is complete and accurate.
• May supervise phlebotomy operations in the absence of supervisors.
