Job summary

DCH Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and to perform essential clerical duties in the lab. The role supports patient care across campuses, nursing homes, ED and outpatient drawing stations.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED; phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and comply with safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
• Must be able to move about, stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to human body fluids and laboratory chemicals; follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Collects, transports and receives specimens with age-specific lab knowledge.
• Performs clerical duties to process specimens and reports.
• Performs Breath Alcohol Test and Urine DOT Drug Screen collections.
• Works across campuses, nursing homes, ER and outpatient stations.
• Maintains supplies, storage, and handling; trains new employees.
• Organizes workflow and ensures documentation; assists supervisors.
• In absence of supervisors, oversees phlebotomy operations.
