Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy and assist with non-blood specimen collection. You will collect and process specimens, maintain clean work area, and support lab operations both on and off site. Mentoring students and other duties may be assigned.

A high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy training are required. Preferred: six months of phlebotomy experience; valid driver's license may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with lab policies and procedures and within expected timeframes both on and off site as required.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties (e.g., order entry, registration, specimen receiving) to ensure efficient operations.
• May mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
