Job summary

CommonSpirit Medical Group – Family Medicine – Ooltewh is seeking a Lab Assistant to collect, prepare, and process patient specimens with accuracy and care. You will support diagnostic workflows using standard phlebotomy procedures and ensure proper labeling and documentation.

You will work with basic lab equipment, verify patient identity, and help maintain quality assurance by following protocols and reporting any issues to supervision. A commitment to learning and patient safety is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
• Phlebotomy training from an accredited program
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician, upon hire

Responsibilities

• Assemble equipment such as tourniquet, needles, blood collection devices and supplies
• Verify or record identity of patient or donor
• Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for analysis
• Send specimens to reference laboratories when needed
• Maintain documentation per quality assurance procedures
• Identify problems affecting test performance and report to supervisor
