Job summary

Decatur General Lab is seeking a phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy and related clerical tasks to support laboratory operations. You will collect specimens, label correctly, and enter data in LIS and HIS to ensure accurate testing and reporting.

The role requires adherence to CAP and other regulatory guidelines, maintaining a clean, safe work environment, and providing training to students and new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred if applicant lacks prior phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and related clerical tasks to support laboratory operations.
• Process specimens and ensure proper labeling and handling.
• Enter patient and test information into LIS and HIS accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to infection control procedures.
• Follow CAP and other regulatory guidelines governing laboratory practices.
