Qualifications

• Six (6) months phlebotomy experience in an accredited hospital clinical laboratory preferred.
• Experience working with laboratory instrumentation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows the hospital’s policies and procedures and documents their review.
• Demonstrates ability to draw blood on all age groups, following each step of the laboratory procedure and antiseptic techniques.
• Assists the CLS in the lab by centrifuging, organizing the specimens, placing specimens on the instruments to initiate a test run, making smears, plating micro, maintaining the instruments, and doing inventory.
• Explains collection procedures to patients and communicates clearly with colleagues.
