Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Phlebotomist Technician to join our Noble County Lab. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen handling, test ordering, telecommunication, supply maintenance, and light clerical duties in a varied shift environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to work independently under pressure while delivering outstanding service to patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or current high school student with proof of phlebotomy training.
• Valid CPR certification or obtained within one year of employment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to multiple locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• May perform phlebotomy using proper collection techniques.
• Maintains knowledge of laboratory tests and ordering codes.
• Process specimens and maintain integrity per test requirements.
• Maintain proficiency in telecommunication operations and remote systems.
• Maintain records including chain of custody and lab reports.
• Comply with CAP, HFAP, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
