Genesis HealthCare System is seeking a Phlebotomist Technician to join the Noble County Lab team. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen handling, test ordering, and telecommunication tasks within a laboratory setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy training proof, CPR certification, and strong written/spoken communication skills. The position supports a varied shift with 24 hours per week and a focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, or current high school student with proof of completed phlebotomy training.
• Valid CPR certification or obtained within one year of employment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a complex and changing environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates excellence with listening, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• May perform phlebotomy and demonstrate proper collection techniques.
• Maintains knowledge of laboratory tests and appropriate computer ordering codes.
• Processes specimens maintaining integrity according to test requirements.
• Maintains proficiency in telecommunications using a wireless remote system.
• Keeps accurate records including chain of custody and lab reports.
• Complies with CAP, HFAP, OSHA, and HIPAA requirements.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
• Maintains professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
