Job summary

Northern Inyo Healthcare District in Bishop, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist to provide frontline patient sampling and order entry in the Laboratory Information System. This role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and compassionate patient care as part of a busy hospital lab team.

The ideal candidate will have CA CPT I license, completed phlebotomy training with clinical rotation, and High School/GED. Experience in Cerner LIS/EHR and customer service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of Phlebotomy Training Program with clinical rotation.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California CPT I license and CPR certification within 6 months of hire.
• Entry level; phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Cerner LIS/EHR experience and customer service exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely performs venipuncture or heel sticks on patients of all ages.
• Properly identifies patients per SOP.
• Screens orders for billing/regulatory requirements.
• Ensures ABNs are signed as required.
• Enters/activates orders in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Collects and handles patient specimens following specimen requirements.
• Maintains confidentiality and supports lab operations.
