Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a phlebotomy technician to collect venous and capillary blood samples from patients across the patient service center, main hospital, and client sites. You will perform labeling and handling of specimens and assist with clerical tasks in the laboratory.

Responsibilities include obtaining samples, providing courteous patient service, assisting in training students and staff, and ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training preferred.
• Experience providing customer service in a clinical setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and processes venous and capillary blood samples from patients of all ages.
• Provides courteous customer service to patients and laboratory stakeholders.
• Assists in training phlebotomy students, nursing or laboratory personnel as directed.
• Adheres to all laboratory and safety procedures and quality requirements.
• Identifies issues and participates in quality assurance and improvement efforts.
• Demonstrates proficiency with hospital/ laboratory information systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
