CommonSpirit Health seeks a Lab Assistant at Community Hospital of San Bernardino. The role focuses on collecting, preparing, and processing patient specimens for diagnostic tests using venipuncture and related techniques.

The successful candidate will have at least 6 months as a phlebotomist and hold a California CPT license, with a strong commitment to accuracy, learning, and teamwork in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) months as a laboratory phlebotomist is required.
• California Certified Phlebotomy License (CPT) through the Department of Public Health is required.

Responsabilités

• Perform venipunctures, heelstick, and fingerstick procedures to collect blood specimens for lab testing across all age groups.
• Assist in laboratory activities that comply with the scope of unlicensed personnel, ensuring no part of manual or automated procedures requiring measurement, calculation, or interpretation is conducted.
• Collaborate with Clinical Laboratory Scientists to ensure all laboratory results are critically reviewed, verified, and validated before release.
• Uphold the Mission and Core Values of St. Bernardine Medical Center through professional conduct and reliable specimen collection.
• Contribute to the hospital's strategic plan by actively participating in quality improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
