Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Technician experience required.
• Technical proficiency with standard procedures, techniques and practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a team environment.
• Formal Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Graduate of accredited phlebotomy program with clinical rotation/externship preferred.
• Experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection procedures and venipuncture according to established protocols.
• Verify order requests and patient information prior to drawing blood.
• Label specimens and deliver to the appropriate processing area.
• Perform specimen processing tasks including accessioning, centrifugation and packaging.
• Transport blood and other lab specimens and supplies as needed.
