Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Santa Barbara, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends, and a state phlebotomy license is required.

You will collect specimens, process and label samples, enter data into lab systems, and deliver reliable service to patients and clients. Prior phlebotomy experience and strong accuracy are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments as required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies.
• Assist with statistics submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and training courses.
