Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to follow established procedures for routine and STAT blood collection and specimen processing. You will perform preventive maintenance on lab equipment and manage phlebotomy supplies in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualified candidates have basic phlebotomy skills with certification, California certification, and current BLS. Strong communication and technical skills are essential for patient care and data reporting in acute care settings.

Qualifications

• Basic phlebotomy skills with certificate.
• Ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently under pressure.
• Sufficient technical knowledge to support the needs of the organization.
• Verbal and written communication skills to transfer data/information.
• Demonstrated baseline competency in lab services population learning module.

Responsibilities

• Follows established procedures to perform routine and STAT blood collection and specimen processing for all laboratory testing.
• Performs preventive maintenance, humidity, and temperature checks of refrigerators, freezers, heat blocks and other equipment as assigned.
• Performs routine maintenance of centrifuges, hoods, and other laboratory equipment.
• Assists in maintaining phlebotomy and blood collection supplies and other inventory.
