Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a skilled phlebotomist for a Phlebotomy Float Pool role across multiple Greater Charlotte Market sites. You will perform blood draws, mentor teammates, and ensure efficient, high-quality specimen collection across departments during nights and weekends.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years phlebotomy experience, and active certification (ASCP/AMT/NHA/ASPT) with 6-month certification window upon hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; 4 Year/Bachelors preferred.
• 3+ years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Certification by ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA required; must obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; able to communicate with staff and patients.
• Ability to work independently and maintain quality in a fast-paced setting.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Relevant phlebotomy experience.
• Experience: 3 years of experience, required.
• Licensure/Certification: Certification by ASCP, ASPT, AMT or NHA, required.
• Additional Skills (required): New hire phlebotomist must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment. Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tasks. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skilled in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skilled in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to work independently. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to communicate clearly.
