Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking staff to obtain blood specimens from patients and deliver them to the laboratory. The role requires accurate patient identification and proper specimen handling in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED, with MLA certification preferred and an associate degree with biology/chemistry coursework. Prior experience is preferred, and CPR certification will be required by orientation end date.

Qualifications

• MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency preferred.
• Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 biology and 6 chemistry semester hours preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities

Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information. Absolute integrity and accuracy in the patient identification process. Must complete HeartSaver CPR by the end of the orientation period.
