Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a responsible individual to obtain blood specimens from patients and deliver specimens to the laboratory, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and completing CPR training by the orientation period.

Preferred candidates have an MLA certification or an Associate's Degree with biology/chemistry coursework, and a strong emphasis on accurate, efficient work in a fast-paced clinical setting.

• Must complete HeartSaver CPR by end of orientation period.

Qualifications

Education

High School diploma or GED required.

MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred. Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of biology and 6 semester hours of chemistry preferred.

Experience

Previous work experience strongly preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities

Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information. Absolute integrity and accuracy in the patient identification process. Must complete HeartSaver CPR by the end of the orientation period.
