Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to provide timely specimen collection and related lab support, while delivering compassionate patient care. You will identify patients and samples, perform venipuncture and skin tests, document in EPIC, and assist training.

This role requires strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure. Off-site collections and rotation to different lab locations may be required; continuing education

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of a phlebotomy training program or medical assisting program preferred.
• ASCP/AMT/NHA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and skin tests with care.
• Identify patients and samples during pre-analytical to post-analytical phases.
• Enter information in EPIC accurately and timely.
• Provide outstanding customer service to patients and families.
• Assist with education and training of new staff and students.
• Maintain and clean the laboratory, stock supplies, and assist with off-site collections.
