Description

Decypher is seeking qualified Phlebotomy Technicians to support missions at Joint Base Andrews, MD.

Responsibilities
  • Properly identify and label specimens.
  • Maintain sanitary standards to prevent disease transmission.
  • Select and implement age-appropriate collection techniques.
  • Ensure samples are prepared correctly for laboratory analysis.
  • Send specimens to appropriate testing locations.
  • Update patient records.
Additional Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with care standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, including JC standards.
  • Complete orientation and competency verification programs.
  • Participate in committees, meetings, and provide relevant information for decision-making and process improvements.
  • Report to the Director of Laboratory Services or Director of the ASBBC for mobile blood drives.
  • Participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities.

Qualifications
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited training program resulting in certification by the ASCP, HHS, or American Medical Certification.
  • Certifications: None required beyond basic life support, depending on state regulations.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years.
  • Board Certification: None.
  • Licensure/Registration: None.
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizen required.
Physical Requirements
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of mobile blood drive equipment, capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.

Compensation: $20.85 per hour.
