Job summary

St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO is seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to perform blood draws and ensure specimen quality for laboratory testing.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
  • Responsible for correct blood collection, drawing blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques, ensuring proper identification and labeling of specimens
  • Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, ensuring all specimens are properly processed and stored
  • Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
  • Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensure everything is in working order, and properly sanitized
  • Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision

Location: St. Mary's Medical Center- Blue Springs, MO
